Reccing some webcomics

khaluluI offer these in the spirit of Rectober, though technically these aren't fanworks, they are original webcomics (but also labors of love and freely offered). Someone on my f-list turned me on to Elan Meets Rafa last year and I have to spread the word! None of these are manga style.
Elan Meets Rafa, a boy love webcomic love story with a cat, by The Mice, is a beautiful, thoughtful, funny, sad, absorbing story in a warm, natural drawing style. Elan is quiet, artistic, intellectual, isolated and unsure of himself, but with enough courage to strike out on his own with almost nothing when his wealthy, controlling father disowns him. Rafa, a confident, street-smart, generous guy from a rough neighborhood, runs into Elan (literally) and their story begins. I am completely addicted to this story, which updates every Wednesday. The artist said she began it to improve her drawing, which does get more polished as it goes along, but I was happy with it from the first. The characters in the neighborhood, and the animals, are also great. This is a realistic look at the hopes and difficulties of love.
The Less Than Epic Adventures of TJ and Amal, by E. K. Weaver, now completed, is another story of two very different guys falling in love during a road trip across America. It's funny, moving, and takes you along on the tour - there are some great landscapes now and then.
And this one is adventures with magic rather than romance, in the Victorian age. It has some very cool characters, including some formidable women, and it's a lot of fun: Widdershins by Kate Ashwin.
