Leviosa/Erised

A belated post just to mention what an utterly lovely time I had at Leviosa. The people! It was so wonderful to meet people and I'm not even going to try to name everyone, because I'm afraid I'll goof and miss some - but it was my great joy to meet and room with Vaysh, and to meet Dicta_contrion, and FantasyFiend09, and Writcraft, and Alisanne, and Amorette, and Sassy_Cissa, and to make new friends like Persephoneapple and nuclearpolymer, and see old friends like pir8fancier and oldenuf2knowbetter. All of the programming was great and my only regret is not having a Time-turner so I could go to several things at once. (And a Port-key so I could have arrived sooner and stayed longer!) The slash and LGBTQIA panels were great, as were some on issues of race and intersectionality, and there were fun things like the Snape debate and video showing by the makers of Snape and the Marauders, and interesting things like information on writing query letters, something I knew nothing about. And I got a great new book called Snape by Lorrie Kim (drinkingcocoa?), which is insightful and completely on-target about how flawed, tormented, abusive, brave, brilliant, and dedicated he was and what an impossible position he was in. Also got a bookbag that quotes Hermione: "When in doubt, go to the library," and was tempted by the election stuff: Granger/Lovegood 2016!

Maybe because Leviosa was so welcoming, I'm actually thinking for the first time about signing up for h/d erised. Gift exchange fests have always made me nervous in a way that prompt based fests do not. Problem is, I need a long gestation time, and I have 2 fics to finish before then, one of which is still in notes-and-ideas-gathering stage.

Great that you had such a good time at Leviosa. :D

Erised is one of the biggest h/d fests and I'm sure you'd do just fine. But I feel you on the gestation time. There's still a week time to make up your mind. Good luck!

Thanks for the encouragement! The timing for Erised is rough because I need to write for Fan Fair/Pet Fair, and before that I need to finish HP Drizzle. I know what to do for Drizzle so if I concentrate i can finish that, but the Pet Fair story is still just notes and ideas, no plan beyond the beginning....

Well, thanks to the Word War this weekend at hd_writers I now have a solid draft for my hp_drizzle fic, so I think I could try it - thanks for the encouragement!
